Creating consistency in our lives helps allow us to eventually reach our goals. As a matter of fact, consistency decreases the overwhelming stress that we sometimes feel when we’re on a health and wellness journey. I’m not saying obtaining optimal health and wellness is extremely difficult, I’m just saying you must be consistent to be successful! The trick is to start small and work your way up to reaching a point where you look and feel great.

Here are a few tips to get you started in creating consistency on your own wellness journey:

  1. Tell yourself that you can do it and that you will do it. It’s all about your mindset, people. If we wake up every day with gratitude, then we set a positive tone for the day. The same goes for consistency. Make it a point to wake up every day and tell yourself that you are going to be consistent in your actions that will help promote your optimal health and wellness.
  2. Focus on one goal. If we have a lot of goals at once, we’re likely to lose focus in one or more areas and get discouraged because we aren’t seeing the results we want. Or we are falling short in one area or another. By breaking it down a bit and focusing on one goal at a time, we’re much more likely to be successful.
  3. Start small. Say your goal is to lose 10 pounds. Start by consistently adjusting your diet to achieve that specific goal. One important goal to have is to increase your water intake. Sufficient hydration is not only good for your body, but it has been very effective in regards to weight loss as well.
  4. Be prepared. Prepare your meals for the next day the night before or even choose one night during the week to meal prep for the whole week. That way, you will be sure have healthy meals on hand all the time! The same goes for working out. Go ahead and put your gym clothes in your car the night before. You’ll be ready for the next day’s workout and have no excuses to skip it.
