How Kybella® Injectable work

Kybella® injectable uses deoxycholic acid, a molecule that naturally helps break down fat in the body. When injected under the chin, Kybella® destroys fat cells, reducing submental fullness. Once eliminated, these cells can no longer store fat, meaning further treatment is usually unnecessary after reaching your aesthetic goal. Available at Vibrant Med Spa, Kybella® provides a long-lasting, non-surgical option.

Before starting the Kybella® injectable, our injector will assess the fat under your chin to see if the treatment is right for you. Each session involves multiple injections to dissolve fat and tighten the skin, with treatments about a month apart. Patients typically need up to six sessions, with some requiring fewer. Bruising or swelling may occur but usually fades quickly, and the treatment takes about 20 minutes.
During each Kybella® injectable session, you’ll receive multiple small injections under your chin, lasting about 15-20 minutes. The number of injections depends on the amount of submental fat and your desired aesthetic outcome. This personalized treatment helps you achieve a more defined profile.
Since every chin profile is unique, the number of Kybella® treatments varies for each patient. Our aesthetic specialists will determine how many sessions you’ll need based on the amount of submental fat and personal goals. Each Kybella® session is spaced at least one month apart, with up to six treatments. In clinical studies, 59% of patients required all six sessions.

After a Kybella® treatment, you may experience swelling,, bruising, or numbness under your chin. Contact Vibrant Med Spa if you notice an uneven smile, facial muscle weakness, difficulty swallowing, or issues at the injection site, such as excessive bruising, hair loss, open sores, or tissue damage.
