Typically, eyelash extensions last for the duration of your natural lash growth cycle, about 4-6 weeks. We recommend scheduling fillings every 2-3 weeks to maintain a voluminous look.
Yes, you can wear makeup with eyelash extensions, but it’s important to use oil-free products. Oil-based makeup and cleansers can break down the lash glue, causing your extensions to fall out prematurely. We recommend using oil-free mascara, eyeliner, and makeup remover. Avoid using swabs or rubbing your eyes vigorously.
We recommend gently cleansing your lashes daily with an oil-free cleanser and a soft brush. Brush your lashes gently with a clean spoolie to keep them neat and separated. Avoid sleeping on your face, and try to sleep on your back or side. Avoid excessive heat and humidity, such as saunas or steam rooms, for 48 hours after application.
It’s essential to have your extensions professionally removed by a trained aesthetician. Attempting to remove them yourself can damage your natural lashes. At our Louisville Med Spa, we use a gentle and safe lash glue remover to dissolve the adhesive, allowing the extensions to slide off without causing harm. Never pull or pluck at your extensions. Professional removal ensures the health and integrity of your natural lashes.
You can swim and go to the gym with lash extensions, but there are a few precautions. For the first 48 hours after application, avoid moisture, including swimming, saunas, and steam rooms; this can weaken the lash glue. After that period, you can resume normal activities. However, chlorine and saltwater can shorten the lifespan of your extensions.
